Tetra Pak is multinational food packaging company based in Sweden. It has over 23,000 employees and over €11 billion in revenues. It provides packaging and processing for various large companies globally. Tendayi’s work with Tetra Pak was a collaborative project with one of his key partners, Userfocus. They collaborated to design a user testing protocol for Tetra Pak’s drinks packaging. Traditionally, Tetra Pak has used machinery to test the pour angles and spillages from their packaging. The work involved using human participants to test things such as ease of opening, ease of pouring, ease of drinking while walking and spillage issues. The experiments to test these protocols were conducted in a wet lab at the University of Kent. Tendayi and colleagues then presented their findings and recommended protocol to Tetrapak in their offices in Modena, Italy.
